| LATEST NEWS | | | | Nov 17th, 2008 | CANADA POST LABOUR DISRUPTION
Canada Post is in the midst of a labour disruption of technical and administrative employees. It is important to note that mail service is not disrupted; the employees involved do not handle or process the mail.
Very few business activities will be affected, as management has been training in these areas for the past few weeks in order to minimize disruptions.
Union employees involved in the labour disruption are picketing outside mail processing plants. At this point, Canada Post is telling us that trucks are being held for 20 minutes. However, some of our trucks have experienced delays of up to 5 hours as they are holding trucks going into the processing plants and coming back out.
The union broke off talks over 2 weeks ago and we are not aware of any new ones being scheduled. As we receive updates, we will pass on pertinent information. | | |
